Cosmetic gynaecology encompasses a number of different procedures, each targeting the physical appearance or function of the vagina, vulva and labia. These treatments can help to tighten, reshape and rejuvenate your body.
What is Cosmetic Gynaecology?
Cosmetic gynaecology is a catch-all term for any cosmetic procedures that target the gynaecological area – namely the vagina, vulva and labia. Here at RejuvLab, we focus on aesthetic treatments that help to remodel and rejuvenate the vulvo-vaginal area.
Desirial is an innovative hyaluronic acid filler that is injected into the vulvo-vaginal area to restore hydration and sensitivity to the area, as well as plump and remodel it. This treatment is often used by more mature patients; it is during this time that they may experience vagina dryness, a lack of vaginal sensitivity and a loss of volume of the labia. Desirial can be used to counteract these issues, leaving patients looking and feeling younger and more rejuvenated.
Stem Cell Vaginal Rejuvenation
A highly innovative procedure, stem cell vaginal rejuvenation involves harvesting fat from a patient’s body, collecting the stem cells from it, and injecting them into the vulvo-vaginal area. This gives the genitals a more plumped up, supple, youthful appearance while also boosting sensitivity in the area, providing patients with increased confidence and sexual satisfaction.
How does Cosmetic Gynecology Work?
Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, which means it absorbs and holds many times its own weight in water. Because of this Desirial (and Desirial Plus) – which is a hyaluronic acid-based filler – works to add volume and hydration to the vulvo-vaginal area through the use of hyaluronic acid. Desirial can also help to stimulate the cells that naturally produce collagen and elastin, which in turn make the area appear more plump and youthful while also increasing sensitivity for increased sexual satisfaction.
Stem Cell Vaginal Rejuvenation
The treatment begins with a small amount of fat being taken for a patient’s body – typically areas with a little extra ‘cushioning’ like the thighs or tummy. This fat is then filtered to separate the stem-cell rich fat from other fluids. This is then reinjected into the vulvo-vaginal areas that the patient wants to plump, smooth and rejuvenate. That this needle is so thin allows even the tiniest of areas to be targeted, creating results that look incredibly natural.
These procedures may be performed alone or in conjunction with one another.
Who Can Benefit from Cosmetic Gynaecology?
Vaginal rejuvenation – which may be one or both of these cosmetic gynaecological procedures – is beneficial for anyone who feels a lack of confidence around their vagina, vulva, pelvic or labia. This could include how they look or how they function.
For more mature patients, Desirial injections and stem cell vaginal rejuvenation can counteract a lack of sensitivity and an increased dryness that comes with ageing. Similarly, both procedures can help to restore a youthful suppleness and plumpness to the labia and surrounding areas that may be lost over time.
Patients may also benefit from these procedures after childbirth, as cosmetic gynaecological treatments can boost both the function and appearance of the vaginal area, which can be altered dramatically during this time.
